Great match in SSL will start Gothia Cup Innebandy 2025

For the first time in ten years, we will offer the participants of Gothia Cup Innebandy a match in the top division as part of the opening night.

It will be a great match in SSL between Pixbo IBK and FBC Kalmarsund in Scandinavium on January 3rd.
– It will be magical, says Pixbo's team captain Oskar Weissbach.

The fight in the SSL will be part of the opening night, which starts at 19.30, and will be witnessed by thousands of participants in the Gothia Cup Innebandy in Scandinavium.
– We're of course very happy to be able to give this opportunity to our participants and also when we are celebrating 30 years as a tournament. The idea is that they should be inspired by seeing floorball at the very highest level, says the tournament director Lena Rönnefors.

Pixbo's team captain Oskar Weissbach welcomes the initiative.
– It will be great fun! Inaugurating Gothia Cup Innebandy with an SSL match against FBC Kalmarsund in front of all participants will be magical. Crowded stands with people cheering, can it get any better? We will feel like rock stars on the court. There will be a little extra energy in every pass and shot with that support. We're really looking forward to a real floorball party, says Oskar Weissbach, who has started the SSL season brilliantly with 16 points in just six matches.

FBC Kalmarsund's team captain Kevin Haglund agrees and is convinced that the match will be something very special.
– I think it's a great idea! It gives an extra boost to us players in both teams to get to play in front of a large crowd and, on the other hand, it's fun for all floorball-playing young people to get the chance to see world-class floorball live, says Kevin Haglund, who has won two gold medals in World Championships with the Swedish national team.
