Sveiva Innebandyklubb returns to GIC: "One of the highlights"
Sveiva Innebandyklubb from Norway will return to Gothia Innebandy Cup and Gothenburg in January 2024.
Sveiva Innebandyklubb was founded in 1994 and is one of Oslo's largest floorball clubs. Sveiva Indoor Bandyklubb's players and managers love the Gothia Indoor Bandy Cup.
– This is one of the highlights for our team, says Ellen Wilhelmsen, leader of the club's G14 team.
Sveiva Innebandyklubb is based at the top of Groruddalen, which is a valley in the north-eastern part of Oslo. The club has players in many different age groups, ranging from young juniors to veterans.
– The motto is "The club with a heart for everyone" and we are one of Oslo's biggest clubs and a good place to be, says Ellen Wilhelmsen.
She explains why the G14 team chose to sign up for the Gothia Innebandy Cup in January.
– Sveiva Innebandyklubb has a long tradition of participating in the Gothia Innebandy Cup. Our girls had planned to participate for the first time in 2021, but due to the pandemic, there was no event. The disappointment was great when we were also unable to participate in 2022 due to the pandemic. This year we finally got to participate and the joy was great. The girls had a fantastic experience and are already looking forward to participating in 2024, says Ellen Wilhelmsen.
What do you think is the best thing about the tournament?
– The best thing about the tournament is the opportunity to play against teams from other countries, play indoor floorball for four days and face teams we don't meet in league games. And not least to be with good friends and the opportunity to make new friends, she says.
How big is the interest in the tournament among the players in the team?
– All the girls are looking forward to it and all the players want to be involved. This is one of the highlights of our team. We are looking forward to the Gothia Innebandy Cup! says Ellen Wilhelmsen.
