New record for Gothia Cup Innebandy

The registration period has expired and we can proudly announce that there will be a new participant record in our anniversary tournament in January.

Gothia Cup Innebandy celebrates 30 years as a tournament. In addition, the anniversary tournament will be the largest so far in our history – with a total of 490 teams.
– It's incredibly fun that there will be a record number of teams for our 30th anniversary, says the tournament director Lena Rönnefors.

Gothia Cup Innebandy was played for the first time in 1994. Then 135 teams participated. Since then, over 10,000 teams from a total of 17 countries have participated in the tournament. When it is soon time for the 30th edition of Gothia Cup Innebandy, we will have a new participation record. In the past, we have had a maximum of 471 teams in the tournament. It was back in 2020. Now we have 490 registered teams from eight countries; Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, USA and Switzerland.

It's both a substantial increase from last year's 421 teams and a fantastic, new participant record. Appropriately enough, it coincides with our anniversary tournament, where we go big and, among other things, arrange an opening ceremony in Scandinavium – including a great SSL match between Pixbo IBK and FBC Kalmarsund on Friday, January 3rd.
– It's incredibly fun that there will be a record number of teams for our 30th anniversary. The tournament has developed enormously since its inception and we're ready to take new steps together with the teams in connection with this anniversary edition, says the tournament director Lena Rönnefors.
