Tough night for Baltic Storm as the first evening match was decided

CL98IC won the tournament’s first evening match at Valhalla Arena. – A fun win, we just kept going, says captain Oscar Härström.

After the march-in and player introductions, the referee blew the whistle and CL98IC quickly took control. The team dominated with very fast combinations. Baltic Storm’s goalkeeper, number 78, really kept the ship afloat with several important saves, especially during the early powerplay chance.

The German team held firm at first, but after seven minutes CL98IC scored 1–0, and the goals followed soon after. With a well-placed slap shot into the far corner, the team extended the lead to 4–0, before Baltic Storm pulled one goal back to make it 4–1 before the end of the first half.

During the break, both team captains were interviewed.

– We have to keep playing the way we are now, and then we should be able to see this through, said CL98IC captain Oscar Härström, who also sent greetings to his mum and grandfather after the interview.

Right at the start of the second half, CL98IC continued their strong play and scored more goals. With the wind in their sails, the team remains unbeaten in the tournament, and it was clear that CL98IC would win the first evening match.

– We kept going in the second half and won comfortably. A win is always a win. Tomorrow it’s the playoffs, which is always fun, said Oscar Härström.

When the final whistle blew, the final score was 9–1 to CL98IC, who move on with the wind in their sails ahead of tomorrow’s playoffs.
