Mollie plays with the boys in Mölndal

Mollie Edwards stands out in Mölndal's IBF B15 team. She's a girl and plays with the boys.

Mollie Edwards plays with both girls and boys. This week, she plays with Mölndals IBF's B15 team in the Gothia Innebandy Cup.
– It's different and a challenge to play with boys, that's why I do it, says the determined talent.

We meet her after a match against Hovshaga AIF in Aktiviteten. Despite the loss, she's not too sad.
– It was great fun to play. It's tough but it's fun to play in the Gothia Innebandy Cup, says Mollie Edwards.
She's been playing floorball for about seven years. For the past twelve months, she's been training with the 15-year-old boys in Mölndals IBF and since six months she has also been playing matches with the team.
– It's different and a challenge to play with boys, that's why I do it. They're very nice in the team so I feel like a part of the group. I play in division 1 and division 3 with Mölndal's ladies as well, she says.

Mollie invests in her floorball and wants to give herself the chance to develop.
– I want to be as good as I can be. The most important thing is to have fun, but I think it's fun to play well.
How do you develop by playing with boys?
– I think I'm developing a lot. It's a whole other level. It's a challenge but a challenge I'd like to be exposed to, so it's a lot of fun.

Mollie Edwards feels that matching against boys helps several aspects of her game.
– It's faster, the boys are fast and it's tougher duels. I feel that I have become faster and more physical. I benefit from it when I play with the girls. Then I can dribble past people I haven't been able to dribble past before, she says.
Do you have a dream team that you want to play for when you get older?
– It's really the women's team in Mölndal, but Pixbo and Lindome are also very good.
What is the best thing about this tournament?
– To face teams from other countries. It's fun to see how floorball is there, says the teenager happily.
