Hvidovre Attack is excited to come back
The Danish club with the amazing name Hvidovre Attack FC will come back for the Gothia Innebandy Cup 2023.
Hvidovre Attack Floorball Club will participate in the Gothia Innebandy Cup 2023 with teams in the categories B15 and B18.
– We have been part of the cup since 2016 with various teams, and in 2020 we also participated with a girls’ team for the first time, says the coach Jens Færgemann.
The results isn't the most important thing for the Danes.
– Although we lose more games than we win, Gothia Innebandy Cup is really something the players look forward to all year. We are of course at the tournament to play floorball, but we are also there to have a good time, says Jens Færgemann.
They arrive on Wednesday evening and leave Sunday afternoon.
– That leaves the players plenty of time to just hang out and have a fantastic time with their own teammates and with the other players from our club and bond with the coaches, he says.
Gothenburg is a 3-4 hour drive from the Danish city of Hvidovre on the outskirts of Copenhagen.
– The fact that the tournament takes place in a foreign country makes Gothia Innebandy Cup a bit more exotic than the domestic tournaments we participate in.
Hvidovre Attack FC has one tradition when they're in Gothenburg.
– Going to an icehockey game, if possible, has become a tradition, when we go to the Gothia Innebandy Cup, says Jens Færgemann.
Hvidovre Attack FC was founded in 1996 and is the third largest club in Denmark.
– We are close to 300 players, ranging from 6 to 76 years old. We have ten teams in the Danish leagues. We have Men’s and women’s teams in the highest ranked senior leagues, teams in all of the youth leagues and teams in various senior leagues. We also have a couple of teams for pensioners and a team of players with mental disabilities, says Jens Færgemann.
