Gothia Cup Innebandy

Did you get the last match of the evening…? Congratulations — the concept “The Night Match” is introduced and will be something special that attracts spectators

On Sunday (the 4th) and Monday (the 5th) evening, there will be extra buzz around the final match of the night in Valhalla Arena and Prioritet Serneke Arena A-hallen. – We see this as an opportunity to build true spectator matches, says Lena Rönnefors, Tournament Director for Gothia Cup Innebandy.

At two of our main arenas, we will give some extra shine to the last showdown of the evening. Which teams will compete will be decided once the match schedule is finalized.
– A 10 PM kickoff might feel challenging, but we believe that if we make it a happening and attract a big crowd, the teams will love playing these games. The floorball played in the tournament is high quality, and it would be great if many take the chance to come and watch, says Lena Rönnefors.

The first night match will be played on Sunday the 4th at Valhalla Arena. Located in the heart of Gothenburg, the arena is a classic venue with seating for 450 spectators right next to the court. The following evening, on January 5th, the event moves to the Kviberg area and Prioritet Serneke Arena A-hallen, an arena offering modern facilities with seating for 750 spectators and a setting often used for major sporting events.
– We believe both venues are very well-suited for spectators, and then it’s up to us to create the right atmosphere with cheer clappers, competitions, music, and more to help build the mood, says Lena Rönnefors.

Night matches in a tournament context mean a schedule that stretches later into the evening than usual. For players and coaches, this can require a different type of preparation, but we believe it will be received positively.
– Our hope is that it will become something truly special! says Lena Rönnefors.
