CL98IC dominated the B18 category in GIC 2024
CL98 IC has faced seven tests in the Gothia Innebandy Cup 2024 and passed them all. After three silvers, they finally got to lift the trophy.
After seven straight wins, they're champions in the B18 category. It was extra redeeming for CL98IC as they had previously lost three finals in the tournament.
– Every player in this team is of top class, says the two-goal scorer Olle Nilsson.
If you win seven matches in a row, you are clearly a worthy winner of a tournament. In the final, they immediately grabbed the baton and went up to a 3-0 lead in the first period after goals by Olle Nilsson, Elof Fager and Hjalmar Wahlström. In the second period, Mölndal's IBF came back and scored three straight goals. But CL98IC was not put down by this. Instead they took control of the match again. In the end, the victory was indisputable and they won by six goals to three.
Olle Nilsson scored two goals in the match, one of which was the important 4-3 goal, and received the award as the match's MVP. Afterwards he was in seventh heaven.
– It feels so great to win. It was a little nerve-wracking when they came back and equalized, but then we closed the game. Every player in this team is of top class, says Olle Nilsson.
It is clear that they have a lot of fun together and have a strong team spirit.
– What makes us so good is that we have played together for a long time and are a tight team. We have won three silver medals before. This was the first time we won the Gothia Innebandy Cup. It is wonderful!
It was crystal clear how they would celebrate the triumph in the coming hours.
– We will listen to high music all the way home to Kalmar, says Olle Nilsson.
