Big interest for Gothia Cup Innebandy's goalkeeper school

Gothia Cup Innebandy's popular goalkeeper school was held on Saturday. Pixbo goalkeepers Oscar Fränberg and Elmer Arne held four sessions with enthusiastic and ambitious goalkeepers.

The goalkeeper school was held in Valhalla Sporthall from morning until late afternoon on Saturday. According to the 18-year-old instructor Oscar Fränberg, it's been a great interest in this year's edition of the goalie school.
– It's great that all the goalies have been so committed, says Oscar Fränberg.

Last year he was an instructor for Gothia Cup Innebandy's goalkeeper school together with former SSL goalie Kalle Lundgren. This time he had Elmer Arne, who is a year younger, to help him. They both think that the goalie school has been a successful feature of Gothia Cup Innebandy this year.
– It has gone very well. It's great that all the goalies have been so committed. We have had great sessions all day, says Oscar Fränberg.

The first and fourth sessions were for goalies between the ages of eleven and 14. Sessions number two and three were for goalies between the ages of 15 and 18. The morning session was fully booked.
– At the beginning, we were a lot of goalkeepers. At that time, there were between 20 and 25 with us. Then it dropped off a bit after lunch when many had their own matches. In the afternoon, we were a pretty big group again, says the keeper.

They have set up the training sessions a little differently depending on the goalkeepers' age.
– With the younger goalkeepers, we have taught a lot of the basics and focused on making it fun to move like a floorball goalkeeper. We have tried to get the goalkeepers to get into that feeling. With the older goalkeepers, we have put more focus on technique and small details here and there, says Oscar Fränberg.
He feels that the goalkeepers have picked up on a lot of tips that he and Elmer Arne have shared.
– It feels like they have picked up same things. The goalkeepers have come up with a lot of opinions afterwards. They have said that they have learned a lot too, so it is fun, he says.
