Värnamo IK got a dream start in the final against Torpedo Havířov, scoring immediately with strong support from a loud home crowd. The fast goal set the tone for a match played at high pace, with fans making their presence felt from the very first minute.
Torpedo responded shortly after with an equaliser, followed by another goal just minutes later, celebrated loudly by the Czech bench. Both benches remained fully engaged throughout the match, standing up and constantly encouraging their players as the intensity continued.
The Czech side held their lead for large parts of the match, showing composure and defensive discipline. With six minutes remaining, Torpedo Havířov scored again to make it 3–1, prompting the entire bench to rush onto the court in celebration. Värnamo’s coach urged his players to keep fighting until the end.
With one minute left, Torpedo added a fourth goal, securing a 4–1 victory. The final whistle confirmed Torpedo Havířov as Gothia Cup champions in Boys 16 after a final full of pace, drama, and emotion.
– The best thing about the tournament was the final whistle of the final. We are going to celebrate a bit in the bathroom, but also stay quiet because we are humble, says MVP Marc Cereja.
