The boys from Tunet IBK’s B17 team make the most of their time
This could be their last time at Gothia Cup Innebandy.
The Norwegian players from Tunet IBK’s B17 team might be playing in their final Gothia Floorball Cup after years of participation.
– It’s not just about playing matches together; it also gives us the chance to bond and spend time off the court, says Emil Alexander Rosén, a player for Tunet IBK.
On Sunday afternoon, Tunet IBK triumphed over Hovshaga AIF with a thrilling 5–4 victory after a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. The win secured their place in the quarterfinals of the B-playoffs.
– It was a good match between two evenly matched teams. The penalty shootout was also tight, with many well-executed shots. We owe a lot to our goalkeeper, who made some crucial saves, says Emil Alexander Rosén.
Mathias Solberg Swahn describes the feeling when the decisive penalty went in.
– It was the best feeling I’ve had in a very long time. I’m grateful for my skilled teammates who converted their penalties, he says.
The boys are experienced Gothia Cup Innebandy players, having participated in the tournament multiple times. However, this year might be their last.
– We’ve been here almost every year we could, but I think this might be the final tournament for our team since many players will move on to senior level next year, says Emil Alexander Rosén.
The Gothia Cup Innebandy isn’t just about performing well in matches; it’s also about enjoying the experience and spending time with teammates.
– It’s important to cherish moments like these. It strengthens the team, and you grow closer to your teammates. It’s not just about playing matches; it’s also an opportunity to bond and do things off the court, says Mathias Solberg Swahn.
After the intensity of a penalty shootout, the Tunet IBK players must now prepare for their next match, the quarterfinal, which is just a few hours away.
– We don’t have a specific routine for recharging before matches. The focus is simply on the next game and performing as well as we can, says Mathias Solberg Swahn.
Tunet IBK’s next match is at 8:00 PM in Valhalla A against Husqvarna IK/Gränna AIS. A win would secure their spot in the semifinals of the B-playoffs, scheduled for tomorrow.
