Tatran Stresovice wins gold in the G17-18 category

The Czech team took home the gold in the high-scoring match after a strong performance.

It was an exciting match when the Czech team Tatran Stresovice 1 faced Lindås IBF in the G17-18 final of the Gothia Cup Innebandy. In the end, it was Tatran Stresovice 1 who claimed victory with a 6-2 scoreline.

The two teams had already faced each other once in the group stage, which added an extra layer of intrigue to the encounter. In the earlier match, Lindås emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, but the group standings showed that the teams were almost inseparable in terms of points scored.

The first period was a high-scoring affair. Lindås started energetically with high pressing, but Tatran Stresovice had an answer to every challenge the Swedish team posed.

The Czech team struck first, with a goal by Alexandra Kopčeková. Lindås quickly equalized through Sofia Wimmerstedt. Before the first period ended, Tatran Stresovice 1 managed to score twice more on quick counterattacks, with goals from Denisa Výborná and Alžběta Koníčková, making it 3-1.

The second period remained competitive. Lindås fought back with a goal from Tindra Stigvall, narrowing the lead to 3-2. The tension was palpable as both teams battled hard.

Tatran Stresovice extended their lead to 4-2 with a brilliant solo effort from captain Karolína Bláhová. Zuzana Štípková then made it 5-2, and Denisa Výborná, who was named MVP of the match, scored her second goal to seal the 6-2 victory for the Czech team.

- Incredible feelings right now. We worked so hard for this, and we’re so happy right now, said Denisa Výborná.

You lost to Lindås the last time you faced them. What did you do differently this time?

- It’s hard to say. We changed our mindset and managed to come back. That was our plan!
