Snipers Samorin won the B12 final after penalty thriller

CL98IC was also represented in the second final at Prioritet Serneke Arena. They played against Snipers Samorin from Slovakia in the B12 final. The Slovakian team became champions after penalties.

The B12 final was very exciting and tight and went to penalties. Snipers Samorin, which had great support from the stands, won the final. The goalkeeper Matúš Pozemka became the hero with several penalty saves.
– It’s of course very big to win Gothia Cup Innebandy, says the champion and the MVP of the final.


The Swedish side scored the first goal of the B12 final. Victor Alkic scored for CL9IC halfway through the first half. With two minutes remaining of the first halv, Lukáš Toka scored to tie the match for Snipers Samorin. The huge crowd from Slovakia celebrated in the stands. 1–1 was also the score after the first 20 minutes. It was a tight and very exciting match to follow.

The second half went on to be goalless, although both teams had chances to score the winning goal. It meant that the B12 final went to penalties. CL98IC and Snipers Samorin both scored on their first penalty. Then both CL98IC’s and Snipers Samorin’s second penalty were saved. Snipers Samorin took the lead thanks to a penalty goal by Filip Čierny.

Snipers Samorin won the thriller in the end – after several penalty saves by the goalkeeper Matúš Pozemka.
– It was easy! I practice penalties a lot on training, so I didn’t mind that the match went to penalties, says Matúš Pozemka.
He thought it was so much fun to share the moment with his club mates.
– It feels very good to win. This is my first Gothia Cup Innebandy, so this is very good. It’s of course very big to win Gothia Cup Innebandy. It’s the biggest tournament to win, says Matúš Pozemka.
