Landvetter Wings take the win in an electric night match
Landvetter IBK Wings won in the second night match against Tunet IBK 2–1. – We are so good, it has probably never happened that we’ve played a cup in front of so many people, says goalkeeper Olivia Svanberg.
The crowd was clearly engaged, with claps, cheers and dancing supporters cheering for both Landvetter and Tunet during the evening’s close and intense game.
– We haven’t played an evening match before, it was so much fun with the support we got today, says Olivia Svanberg.
Landvetter took the lead after ten minutes, boosted by the loud supports from their club teammates. Tuva Båth increased the lead to 2–0 with a cool penalty just before half-time, giving the team a strong position going into the second half.
Tunet IBK came back strongly in the second half and reduced the score to 2–1 with three minutes left. With 30 seconds remaining, the Norwegians called a timeout and tried to put pressure on Landvetter, but the home team’s goalkeeper stood firm with several crucial saves, real “monster blocks,” keeping the team in control and securing the win.
After the match, Olivia praised her team’s efforts and the crowd’s support:
– Now we all have to give everything and we’re going to win tomorrow as well, says Olivia Svanberg.
The match featured high intensity and close challenges, a real treat for the spectators. Landvetter Wings ultimately came out on top and will take their confidence into tomorrow’s final.
