National team player Linus Malmström: "It will be magical"

After eleven matches in SSL, Linus Malmström has produced 14 goals and five assists. He is FBC Kalmarsund's best offensive player so far this season.

He can't wait to play the match against Pixbo IBK in front of around 10,000 Gothia Cup Innebandy participants in Scandinavium on Friday, January 3rd.
– It will be magical, says Linus Malmström.

The forward has had a strong start to the season in FBC Kalmarsund, as evidenced by his 19 points. But he himself is not completely satisfied.
– It has been a bit up and down. I've had a few small injuries and things that made it a little bit difficult, but it has felt very good at the end, says the national team player.
In terms of points, he thinks he has had an okey start.
– My role is to score a lot of points, but I think I should have been able to score more. Then I've missed some matches too, says Linus Malmström.

He has a few favorite goals among his 14 goals so far this season.
– I have scored some nice goals, but the most important thing is to win, so I have to say the decisive goal against Team Thorengruppen on penalty, he says.
Linus has high hopes that it will be a successful season for FBC Kalmarsund.
– The goal is to make it to the playoffs and then compete for a place in the final. Both me and the team have a few more levels in us so if we get there in time for the playoffs it, then it will look good for us.

On January 3rd, FBC Kalmarsund and Pixbo IBK face each other in Scandinavium. The match is part of Gothia Cup Innebandy's opening night and is expected to attract around 10,000 participants.
– It will be magical. These are the kind of matches you dream of playing, so it will be a lot of fun! says Linus Malmström.
The 25-year-old has very fond memories of Gothia Cup Innebandy.
– I have a good attitude towards the tournament. I have played it many times and I remember that I was always longing to play it. I also had the honor of winning it in the B18 category in 2018 with Åstorp Kvidinge, says Linus Malmström.
