Gothia Cup Innebandy 2026 opened in front of a crowded Scandinavium

The tournament is officially opened. 9212 spectators attended the opening.

Gothia Cup Innebandy began with an opening ceremony at Scandinavium. 9212 players and team officials gathered to enjoy a show with music, dance and presentations of all participating nations.

– It was a fantastic evening. It was wonderful to see so many players and team officials gathered in one place, and I am very happy with how the opening became such a positive start to the tournament, says Lena Rönnefors, Tournament Director.

After the opening ceremony, the evening continued with an SSL match, a West Coast derby between Pixbo IBK and Warberg IC. The match was played in front of a large crowd and was part of the opening night programme at Scandinavium. The game ended 4-2 to Pixbo IBK.

The tournament is marked by meetings in many forms, both organised and spontaneous. The opening ceremony is the largest gathering of the week and marks the start of the tournament.
