CL98IC struck gold in the B18-category

Goalkeeper Hugo Hallén got a clean sheet: "You don't do that in a final"

CL98IC faced Växjö IBK U in the B18 final, and it was a true goal fest in Partille Arena as CL98IC secured a dominant 6-0 victory.

The stage was set for a thrilling final between the two league rivals. Växjö had gone through the tournament undefeated, while CL98IC, last year’s Gothia Cup Innebandy champions, had fought their way to the final after two intense penalty shootouts.

- We have such an amazing team spirit this year. We come here and just give it our all, building cohesion throughout the season, and now we’re here, said Hugo Hallén, the player of the match.

Both teams started strongly, but it was CL98IC who set the tone with an early goal by Vilgot Joelsson. Shortly after, teammate Olle Nilsson followed up with a second goal for CL98IC.

Växjö pushed hard in the second period, putting pressure on the Kalmar team’s defense, which held firm with an impressive performance. Hugo Hallén, the standout goalkeeper, delivered an exceptional game, well-supported by his defensive line.

CL98IC wasn’t satisfied with just defending their lead and continued to press forward. Vilmer Arvidsson was in great form, scoring both the third and fourth goals. Despite Växjö’s determined effort, they couldn’t stop CL98IC, who wrapped up the match to standing ovations from the crowd with a final score of 6-0.

- There’s definitely pressure on you, noted Hugo Hallén about coming to Gothia Cup Innebandy as reigning champions.

- It just fuels us. It’s like gasoline. We just go for it, he added.

How do you manage to keep a clean sheet in a final?

- You don’t. It’s unreal, Hugo Hallén said with a chuckle.
