All eyes on the goalkeeper – Växjö Vipers Blå win Gothia Cup in B15

Fast goals, momentum swings and nerves right until the final minutes defined the Boys 15 Playoff A final. – It’s extremely fun, we’ve fought for this throughout the whole tournament, says MVP Theo Magnusson.

Tunet IBK Lila got off to a strong start in the final and took the lead after just four minutes. Växjö Vipers Blå responded quickly with an equaliser only a minute later and soon after took the lead themselves. The opening phase was played at a high tempo, with rapid changes in momentum and visible tension both on the court and in the stands.

Växjö gradually took control of the game and went into halftime with a 3–1 lead. The team showed a structured approach and were efficient in attack, while Tunet tried to fight their way back through quick transitions.

In the second half, Växjö continued to control large parts of the match, but Tunet IBK Lila refused to give up. In the closing minutes, Tunet pushed hard and came close to equalising, creating drama right until the final whistle.

When the match ended, Växjö Vipers Blå had secured a 4–3 win in the final and with it the Gothia Cup title. As the whistle blew, all players rushed towards their goalkeeper and celebrated together in a burst of joy.

– We came to the tournament with two teams and the goal was to go as far as possible. We have a very strong team spirit, and winning Gothia Cup means a lot, says MVP Theo Magnusson.

Växjö Vipers Blå can now call themselves Gothia Cup champions in Boys 15 after a final filled with intensity, emotion and decisive moments.
