Big News: Mini Floorball Comes to Gothia Cup Innebandy
Gothia Cup Innebandy continues to grow and is now launching mini floorball as a new part of the tournament. – This initiative is a natural next step in the development of the event, which just keeps on growing, says Martin Laanemets, Competition Manager for Gothia Cup Innebandy.
The new category is aimed at the youngest players and creates an opportunity for them to become part of the international tournament environment in Gothenburg at an early age. At the same time, it strengthens the overall event, where more age groups and levels are included within the same structure.
– We see a strong interest in floorball among younger players and want to create a place for them as well. Mini floorball will be an important part of building the future of the tournament, says Martin Laanemets.
The tournament continues to be a key meeting place for the global floorball community. The past two years have also been the most successful in the tournament’s history.
– Our strength lies in the full experience, and we don’t see any reason for growth to slow down in the near future. It’s not just about the matches, but everything around them – the opening ceremony, logistics, accommodation, activities, and meetings between people from different countries. That is what allows us to keep growing while also improving quality, says Martin Laanemets.
With mini floorball, the tournament expands even further. The combination of international participation, professional organisation, and a clear vision for the future means that Gothia Cup Innebandy continues to move forward.
– I think many people in Gothenburg may not have been fully aware of the tournament before. But in recent years, our presence in and around the city has grown rapidly. We have a clear direction ahead. Reaching new record levels is proof that what we are building is working. Mini floorball is another step in strengthening our position and creating an even more complete tournament, says Martin Laanemets.
