Gothia Innebandy Cup adds a new age category for 17-year olds

Gothia Innebandy Cup adds a new age category, G17 and B17.
– By creating a new age class, we hope to give the participants another opportunity to play against same age, says Niclas Freiholtz, competition general.

When the registration for Gothia Innebandy Cup opened today, there was a new age class to register teams in. The tournament presents classes for boys and girls 17 years, B17 and G17, for next year.
– Many clubs play level-adjusted today, with mixed ages, and if a team consists of 16 and 17-year-olds, it becomes too tough for them to play in the 18-year-old class. We hope that through the new class we can create an opportunity to meet our participants’ needs and wishes, says Niclas Freiholtz.

The new class is a consequence of the development in floorball, where you have more level divisions further up in the ages, instead of a junior team that captures all players from 17 years up to seniors.
– When the game changes then we change with it. We believe that we can attract more teams this way, says Niclas Freiholtz.

Gothia Innebandy Cup 2020 is held January 3rd-6th. Register your team HERE.
